Lakeside Rocks!!

Another very exciting night at that little dirt track we love so well!! Danny Charles drove past Tim Karrick in the last two laps of the 25 lap A Feature for his third win of the season - and Terry Bivins was back on the track with his tweaked Grand National! Here's what he wrote - to re-cap the race, it's always better to hear the race from the driver!:

Now we really had fun last night. FINALLY the car drove so much better and I got to do some serious racin. Due to the luck of the draw we started next to last in the heat, did not finish in the top 3 to make the A feature without running the B feature, Had a hell of a good race in the B,  finished close enough to the front to run the A feature. Ran in the middle of 3 cars side by side for about 4 laps of the 8. Car on inside would bump me and then I would bump the car on the outside, damn we are having fun now. But two laps from the end rear suspension part got bent from the banging each other but held on to qualify for the A.

My good ole pit crew busted there butts to get it fixed, Just barely got on the track as the race was starting. Just caught up to the field when the green flag waved. We came flying out of the pits when all of the cars were ready to start the race. Started last because of getting out so late, {24th] but some one said we finished 14th. Had a barrel of fun playing catch up

The car still needs some adjustments to make it handle better, but it is a hell of a lot better than before, at least I can race it now. I'm sooo glad the car was the crazy driving problem and not me, went to sleep with a smile on my face.

And the second nice thing of the evening, Chris introduced me to [itsaliving] one of my xanga friends. It was so neat to meet him. Other than family Jeff is the first xangan I have met. He is a great guy and he told me his dad is doing very well now.

We are going to knock out a few dings{heh heh} and go racin next Fri night .WAHOOOOO>

Third nice thing. AllState Foundation  paid for a great bunch of deaf kids to come to the races, They asked some of us drivers to go up in the stands and sign autographs, Now that was a fun time signing cards and T-shirts for those kids. I hope they had a good time.
